Vintage GIJoe Figure Listings

Welcome!

We hope you find this on-line vintage Identification Guide useful in your GIJoe collecting hobby!  It has been taken from the Vintage GIJoe Collector's Pocket Field Manual, which was created by Joe Gearhart and John Medeiros.  These handy little guides were donated and given out as prizes and appreciation gifts during the 1998 Joe-A-Thon on the America On-Line GIJoe message board known as The Trenches.  It is re-created here, at this website, with their permission.  The information is presented for your own personal use. Copying, distributing, etc. any of the information or photographs on these pages is based upon the expressed approval from the authors.

Please note the information listed below, as it affects the listings in this website.

PAPERWORK

Because of size restraints, we were forced to limit some information in check-off lists.  Basically, we omitted the paperwork items.  So the following is a list of what paperwork typically came with the sets and figures in their respective box or package.

VARIATIONS

While as a rule, GIJoes and their equipment came with standard items, but there are always those cases that are exceptions to any rule and G.I. Joe is one of the toys by which all others are judge when it comes being an exception to this rule.

While going through the information contained in this booklet, you will notice a (*) after several of the listed items.  This is to indicate that there was sometimes a variation to that piece.  Say, if a set came with vinyl medic pouch and you see a (* - cloth) are it, that indicates that soemtimes a cloth medic pouch might be found with this set instead of a vinyl one.

Since these variations items didn't occur very often or didn't occur with the entire run of a set, they are rare and hard to come by, as well as costly.  So, keep your eyes open at those yard sales.
